The New Year’s Honors list is published yearly, awarded by King Charles III, following recommendations by the Cabinet Office. This year’s list includes a total of 1,227 recipients, 48 per cent of whom are women, with 13.8 per cent having an ethnic minority background.
England goalkeeper Mary Earps was honoured on the list, as well as her colleagues Millie Bright and Lauren Hemp. Game of Thrones star, Emilia Clarke, made the list alongside her mother, after they set up charity SameYou, which works to help people recover from brain injuries. Paul Hollywood earned an MBE for baking and broadcasting, and the founder of Glastonbury festival, Michael Eavis, was also honored.
