Drone footage shows major flooding that has left an Australian highway completely submerged - and infested with CROCS.

The floods in Queensland are the result of Hurrican Jasper and are the most intense in the region's history.

They have caused the evacuation of more than 100 homes - and witnesses said saltwater crocodiles are "literally everywhere".

The footage, filmed just north of Cairns Airport, shows Captain Cook highway, which connects Cairns and Mossman, completely submerged.

Killian Benhammoud, who filmed the video, said: "Thousands of people are still affected by the floods and are staying on their roofs waiting for food and rescue to come.

"Lots of cows and dogs are swimming around. And now the floodwaters are infested by saltwater crocodiles who are literally everywhere.

Efforts to reopen the highway are currently underway.

The video was filmed on December 18.
