77 Stories in NewEdo is a robust set of tools for making your life easier as a Storyteller, including 77+ plot hooks, 20+ NPCs, 30+ detailed locations, and other goodies for your neon urban campaigns. While crafted for the NewEdo game world, these hooks and characters are suitable for any game setting where near-future technology meets mysticism or fantasy. And, importantly, these stories are a change of pace from the dystopian drudgery of most neon urban games - they're ideas based on themes of aspiration and change.
The 77 Stories Content
These plots aren't d100 list style one-liners; rather, they're fleshed out ideas that grab your attention with unique characters, settings, and problems to solve. The stories present challenges for your characters that revolve around more than just another firefight with the cops or corpo double-dealing. Each hook can be taken on its own and thrown into your ongoing story, but they're also modular, designed in such a way that you can extract connections between the stories to build into a bigger arc. Set in a near-future world where belief can literally change reality, NewEdo differs from other neon urban games because of its themes. Whereas most near future, neon-splashed settings have dystopian vibes of resistance and rebellion, NewEdo's themes are those of aspiration and change. Characters are intended to change the future, and are given the tools to do so. Dave Thaumavore called NewEdo mythotech, to differentiate it from the cyberpunk genre.
NewEdo has cybernetic augs and holographic adverts, but it also has a mystical depth that does more than just create spell effects for your PCs. The beliefs of the population - mundane or mystical - can alter the fabric of reality.
