After starring in separate 'Karate Kid' films released decades apart, an upcoming sequel will see Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan team up on the big screen. NBC reports that the new movie from Sony Pictures will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle. The Rob Lieber-written film will be produced by Karen Rosenfelt. It has a current release date of December 13, 2024. Macchio will reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso, which he first played in the original 1984 'Karate Kid' film.
