Justin Owen's Fatal Crash @ Lawrenceburg Speedway 2023

Justin Owen was the 2022 Lawrenceburg Speedway sprint car track champion. He had won 2 races in 2022 including the Dick Gaines Memorial race at Lawrenceburg. This was his third attempt at entering a USAC sprint car race; the other starts were in 2019 and 2021.
Saturday night 08 April 2023 Justin Owen was making a qualification lap at Lawrenceburg Speedway when his car bicycled entering turn 3 and struck the outer wall. It then flipped several times and landed in the middle of the track in turns 3 and 4. He was removed from the car and transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, Justin Owen passed away from his injuries.
He was survived by his parents, Marita(Mike) Cable and Scott(Niki) Owen along with his sister Alyssa(Eric) Stone, brother Josh Creech, and step-sister, Ryleigh Dennis.
