Edinburgh's Christmas market and castle have been lit up with festive cheer after the annual celebration got underway.
Drone images show the Princes Street market and fair in full swing after it opened on Friday 17 December.
Photographer Craig Duncan, 38, who attends the famous market at least twice a year with his two children, took the images.
He said: "The market brightens up the whole city with festive cheer - it's like another world.
