Candlelit vigil in Tel Aviv to mark one month since Hamas attacks
  • 6 months ago
People light candles at a memorial set up around a fountain in Israel's Tel Aviv to remember those killed and taken hostage by Hamas a month ago. "We're lighting candles … and we are keeping the memory alive to never forget and keep that light alive," says Shimi Rozen. The 7 October attacks by Hamas left more than 1,400 people dead in Israel, mostly civilians, and over 240 people were taken hostage, according to Israeli officials. Israel has since launched a military campaign to destroy Hamas in Gaza, killing more than 10,500 people, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-run health ministry.
