On November 5, United States Central Command
(CENTCOM) announced that an Ohio-class submarine
has been deployed near Israel and Palestine.
'Newsweek' reports that the news comes just days after
CENTCOM announced that the Dwight D. Eisenhower
Carrier Strike Group had been deployed to the Middle East. .
At the time, CENTCOM said the deployment was , "part of the increase in regional posture.".
According to Pentagon spokesperson Brigadier General
Pat Ryder, the United States' intentions are to prevent
the conflict from escalating into a wider regional affair.
