The Bombay High Court Directed That During Diwali, Firecrackers Can Be Burst Only Between 7 PM to 10 PM, Because Of The City’s Poor AQI. A Division Bench Of Chief Justice DK Upadhyaya And Justice Girish Kulkarni Has Asked All The Municipal Corporations In The Mumbai Metropolitan Region To Adhere To The Directives. The Bench Was Hearing A Suo Motu PIL About The Deteriorating Air Quality In Mumbai, Which Has Become A Matter Of Huge Concern In The Past Few Weeks. The Bench Was Also Seeking Remedial Measures While Hearing The Case.
