NFL Week 9 Final: Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys (5-3) fall short to the Philadelphia Eagles (8-1) 28-23 after CeeDee Lamb caught a Hail Mary pass thrown by QB Dak Prescott but came up short.

This game was back and forth the entire four quarters and both teams competed. The first quarter ended in a tie 7-7. Both teams had great drives, Eagles getting on the board first with a touchdown pass from Kenneth Gainwell. Cowboys answered with a Jake Ferguson four yard touchdown thrown by Prescott.

Dallas then took a 14-7 lead after Kavontae Turpin scored a five yard touchdown thrown by Prescott. Eagles of course answered back with a Jalen Hurts one yard touchdown.

The Cowboys had a chance to go up a touchdown late in the second quarter but WR Michael Gallup dropped a pass third and three and forced a field goal. Kicker Brandon Aubrey hit a 51-yard field goal. Aubrey is still 100 percent for the season and broke a NFL record making 19 straight field goals without a miss to start his career.

Cowboys took a 17-14 lead into the half.

Early in the third quarter DeVonta Smith scored a 29 yard touchdown from Hurts giving the Eagles a 21-17 lead.

They got into the the end zone again with an A.J. Brown four yard touchdown giving the Eagles the biggest lead of the night 28-17.

Things at this point were not going the Cowboys way. After WR Jalen Tolbert scored his first NFL touchdown giving Dallas life, Prescott went for the two point conversion and was short of the goal line after his right foot went out of bounds.

Dallas had a great day on offense with 406 total yards, most coming in the air, 333 yards in the air for the Cowboys led by CeeDee Lamb. He had 11 catches for 191 total yards. Prescott was 29-of-44 for 374 yards for three touchdowns.

Offensive line struggles for Dallas tonight, Philly sacked Prescott four times.

Tony Pollard led the run game with 12 carries for 51 yards.

Hurts had a good, he finished 17-of-23 for 207 yards for two touchdowns.

The Cowboys will head back to Dallas to take on the Giants next Sunday at 3:30 pm.
