As the assembly elections are around the corner in Chhattisgarh, and the politicians are busy campaigning in different districts of Chhattisgarh. Today we have brought to you some data from the last assembly elections of Chhattisgarh. The state had its last assembly elections in 2018, where Congress came out as the winners.

The Congress had secured 68 seats out of 90 seats, whereas, their competitor, BJP got 15
seats. The difference between Congress and BJP was 53 seats. The rest of the parties like JCC
which got 5 seats, BSP which got 2 seats, and 4 seats were won by the other parties.

The seat sharing percentage post 2018 poll was:-
Congress: 43.9%
BJP: 33.6%
JCC: 7.8%
BSP: 3.9%
GGP: 1.8%
OTH: 9%

Congress in Chhattisgarh is led by Bhupesh Baghel. However there was a leadership dispute within the party, between Bhupesh Baghel and TS Singh Deo. It was resolved recently, with Congress making TS Singh Deo as the Deputy CM.

Ajit Jogi had left Congress in 2018 to form his own party Janata Congress Chhattisgarh. His party had swept 7.8% of the vote share.

Now let's read some data to know about the demographic details of the voters of Chhattisgarh.

When it comes to religion, Chhattisgarh predominantly has Hindu population. According to Census data, the Hindu population in Chhattisgarh is 93.25%. Whereas, the Muslim population in the state of Chhattisgarh is 2.02%, Christians comprise 1.92%, Sikhs are 0.27%, Buddist are
0.28%, Jains are 0.24%, and the rest 1.94% goes for other religions.

When it comes to caste, the IndiaVotes data reveals that the ST population is 30.6%, SC population is 12.8% and General is 56.6%.

When it comes to literacy rate of Chhattisgarh, 60.2% people in Chhattisgarh are literate, and 39.8% people are illiterate.

When it comes to urbanisation in Chhattisgarh, the state has 23.2% urban population, and the rest 76.8% percent is rural population.

When it comes to gender, the ratio of female to male in Chhattisgarh is 991 females for
each 1000 male. In the 2018 assembly elections, the voter turnout was 50.5% male voters and
49.5% female voters.

18-24 age group had 19.1% voters
25-34 age group had 29.8% voters
35-44 age group had 20.4% voters
44-54 age group had 16.2% voters
