Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, has announced that if he is reelected in the 2024 presidential race, he will shift resources from federal law enforcement to station a significant military presence at the US-Mexico border.

What Happened: According to a report by Reuters, Trump, who is a contender in the next presidential elections, made this declaration during a campaign rally in Dubuque, Iowa. He expressed his intention to dismantle the existing border policies of the Biden administration, characterizing the border crossings during his successor’s term as an “invasion”.

He said at the rally that upon his inauguration he would move swiftly to end Biden’s so-called open borders policy.

“I’ll make clear that we must use any and all resources needed to stop the invasion, including moving thousands of troops currently stationed overseas.”
