Lyft Launches Women+ Connect for Women and Nonbinary Passengers
  • 7 months ago
Lyft has launched a new feature called Women+ Connect, which allows women and nonbinary drivers to match with women and nonbinary riders to improve safety and increase diversity among drivers. The feature is not a guarantee and if no matching individuals are nearby, they will still be paired with men. Lyft has also introduced additional safety measures, including an emergency call button and new driver training. The company recently settled a lawsuit for $25 million, accusing them of concealing safety issues. A safety report revealed over 4,000 assaults during Lyft rides from 2017-2019. Lyft argues that the numbers are statistically small compared to the millions of rides provided each year.
