The Congress party is preparing to organize district-level journeys to commemorate the Kanyakumari-to-Kashmir Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was initiated on September 7th last year, according to sources. The party intends to celebrate the start of this nationwide march, which witnessed Rahul Gandhi and various party leaders covering more than 4,000 kilometers and engaging with a diverse range of people.

Sources reveal that these district-level journeys are planned to observe the one-year anniversary of the commencement of the Bharat Jodo Yatra on September 7th last year. Specifics about the duration and other arrangements for these journeys are currently under consideration. Gandhi inaugurated the yatra on September 7, 2022, in Kanyakumari, and it concluded on January 30 of this year in Srinagar, marking a 145-day ambitious journey.

Gandhi emphasized during a rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar, the grand finale of the cross-country march, that this yatra was not undertaken for personal or party gain but for the welfare of the nation. The primary objective was to oppose the ideology that threatens the foundational values of the country.

Throughout the yatra, Gandhi participated in 12 public gatherings, more than 100 smaller meetings, and 13 press conferences. He engaged in over 275 planned walking interactions and more than 100 seated discussions.

Many experts noted that one significant outcome of the yatra for the Congress was the transformation of Rahul Gandhi's public image. He evolved from being seen as a reluctant and occasional politician to someone who is now regarded as mature and taken seriously by his opponents.

Jairam Ramesh, the Congress general secretary, who, along with party colleague Digvijaya Singh, played a key role in organizing the yatra, emphasized that the transformation of Gandhi's image was not the goal of the yatra but rather a natural result of it.
