The 2024 Mini Cooper EV Introduced as a Totally Urban Three-Door Hatchback.

After numerous leaks and official information leaked on the internet in the last six months, the all-new electric Mini Cooper has finally been fully revealed by the British brand owned by BMW.

Making its debut at the IAA 2023 in Munich on September 5, the zero-emissions three-door hatchback will officially bear the Mini Cooper name and will be available in two versions: the Mini Cooper E and Mini Cooper SE.

The base version features a front-mounted electric motor that develops 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts) and 213 pound-feet (290 Newton meters) of torque, allowing the battery-operated hood to accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 7.3 seconds. .

The Cooper SE bumps the power and torque figures to 214 hp (160 kW) and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) respectively, while acceleration to 62 mph drops to 6.7 seconds.

The floor-mounted 40.7 kilowatt-hour battery provides enough energy for the Mini Cooper E's WLTP-rated 189 miles (305 kilometers) range, capable of DC fast charging up to 75 kW. A slightly larger 54.2 kWh package that extends the calculated range to 249 miles (402 km) with a DC fast charge rate of 95 kW. Both models can be charged with up to 11 kW of AC power.

In terms of design, the latest generation Mini features the brand's well-known circular headlights; this time with LED technology for both daytime running lights and high beams; the new octagonal grille completes the look of the front.

Speaking of headlights, integrated horizontal light graphics are included as standard, and customers can optionally specify daytime running lights with three-mode adjustable light signatures.

At the rear, the all-new Mini Cooper comes with flat tail lights, while vertical light groups can be switched to different modes, just like the front lights.

With a drag coefficient of 0.28 cd, the EV has black sills that make the car appear closer to the road, and the old circumferential Black Band has been discontinued.

Inside, the designers took a minimalist approach; they reduced everything to the basics and removed as many components as possible. As a result, the dashboard now features a round 9.44-inch (240-millimetre) central display running Mini Operating System 9, developed in-house by the BMW Group and based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) software.

Below the screen, the sole source of information for both driver and front passenger, is a redesigned toggle bar incorporating the parking brake, gear selector, start/stop key, experience mode and audio control switches.

The rear trunk provides 200 liters of storage space with the rear seat in its normal position, but this can be expanded to 800 liters by folding the 60:40 split rear seat.
