Six stone sculptures, including one of Robert Burns, have been welcomed back by Citizens Theatre and will now guard actors, audiences, and Gorbals inhabitants.

This past weekend, six famous statues made their long-awaited appearance at Glasgow's Citizens Theatre.

The statues, which date to the 1800s, have been put back on the roof of the Gorbals theatre and are now keeping an eye on the performers, viewers, and locals.

In preparation for the historic building's reopening in 2024, they were hoisted into their brand-new residences.

The four Greek goddesses Melpomene (tragedy), Thalia (comedy), Euterpe (music and poetry), and Terpsichore (dancing) are  alongside William Shakespeare and Robert Burns .
