Texas Faces Sweltering Heat and Surging Electricity Demand
  • 8 months ago
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued a weather watch for August 23 to August 27 due to anticipated high temperatures, increased electricity demand, and the potential for lower energy reserves. Despite this, there is sufficient capacity to meet the projected demand, and no immediate action is required. Recently, on Sunday, ERCOT achieved a new weekend peak demand record of 85,116 MW, surpassing the previous record set on August 10. The 6-day Supply and Demand dashboard suggests the possibility of new peak demand records this week.
