Sports minister Anurag Thakur has praised Neeraj Chopra for winning India's first athletics medal at an Olympics. Chopra won the javelin gold at Tokyo Olympics. It was the 23-year-old's debut Olympics. Thakur said Tokyo 2020 saw many firsts and all this has shown India's endeavour to do even better in the next Games (at Paris 2024).
