Torrential rain and flash flooding cancels Tottenham and Leicester football match in Bangkok

Football fans were disappointed when a pre-season friendly between Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City was cancelled on Sunday due to a waterlogged pitch.The two teams were due to play at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, but the match was abandoned as heavy rain battered the city causing widespread flash floods.Leicester City are owned by a wealthy Thai family with a monopoly on duty-free stores in the country's airports but the side was relegated from the Premier League last season. North London minnows Tottenham have struggled to make an impact in the division since its inception in 1992.Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are approaching their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
