Twitter Under Threat From Threads
Threads, the new microblogging platform launched by Meta Platforms, has achieved 100 million sign-ups less than a week after its launch. Third-party estimates suggest that Twitter traffic has been falling in tandem, indicating that users may leave it for Threads rather than attempting to juggle both. However, Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino tweeted that the platform had experienced its most significant usage day since February and that there was only "ONE Twitter." The two products look and function similarly, but joining Threads requires an account with Meta's Instagram, which has over 2 billion monthly users.
