Kerala: Rain lashes parts of Thiruvananthapuram

Rain lashed parts of Thiruvananthapuram during the early hours of July 7.
As per IMD, Thiruvananthapuram is expected to experience a cloudy sky with a few spells of rain or thundershowers.
In some districts of the state, flood-like situation has been witnessed. As heavy rain continued in many parts of Kerala on July 06, the administration in eleven districts of the state declared a holiday for educational institutions. Six districts of the state are on Orange Alert.
Due to cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, Kerala has been witnessing heavy rain. The rain has caused waterlogging, coastal erosion and overflowing of rivers in many parts of the state.
