Kerala: Doctors protest in Thiruvananthapuram after female doctor stabbed to death

Doctors held a protest in front of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram on May 11. They demanded protection for doctors in hospitals after a female doctor was stabbed to death by her patient. A large number of doctors participated in the protest.
The female doctor named Dr Vandana Das was stabbed to death on duty by a school teacher S Sandeep during his treatment on May 10. Dr Vandana was a house surgeon at Azeezia Medical College, Kollam. She was on duty at Taluk Hospital, Kottarakkara when the incident happened. The accused was reportedly under treatment in a de-addiction centre.
