The U.S. Commerce Department may take action to halt shipments of AI chips to China and other countries without a license. Restrictions would also apply to leasing of cloud services to Chinese AI companies. The Biden administration will wait until after Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's visit to China in early July to avoid upsetting Beijing.
