WNBA UPDATE: Dallas Wings Fall To Seattle Storm
  • 10 months ago
It was quite the battle at College Park Center Saturday afternoon. The Dallas Wings fell to the Seattle Storm 109-103.

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with a career-high of 41 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assist.

Head Coach Latricia Trammell said before the game the team needed to focus in on defensive transition and its something the Wings struggled with in the first half.

“You have to play the first quarter like it’s the fourth,” said Trammell. “We need to put four quarters together but I love the fight and effort I see out of them.”

The Seattle Storm had a 10-point lead until one minute remaining in the second quarter. Crystal Dangerfield and Arike Ogunbowale worked together to knock down valuable threes that would close them in at 55-47 going into the half.

The Wings turned up the heat in the second half. Arike pushed the Wings over the Seattle Storm at the end of the third quarter 75-74 with a good driving layup.

Unfortunately, the effort was not enough to hold off this Seattle team. A foul called on Veronica Burton would allow Seattle’s Kia Nurse to two from the line making it the Storms game.

UP NEXT: The Dallas Wings will remain at home to take on the Atlanta Dream at College Park Center Tuesday night. Tip-off is at 7 PM.
