Surigao del Norte ex-gov faces plunder raps at Ombudsman

Oscar Pospia, Jr. a resident of Surigao del Norte, filed plunder, malversation and graft charges before the Office of the Ombudsman against former Surigao del Norte governor Francisco Matugasnon Tuesday, June 6, 2023, for alleged unlawful use of rehabilitation and provincial disaster management funds worth P60 million intended for victims ravaged by Super Typhoon Odette in December 2021. The complainant said instead of using the funds for the typhoon victims these were allegedly illegally diverted to the Department of Education (DepEd) to procure children's story books.
