A four year-old boy died after being struck by a car in Erdington on Monday. West Midlands Police said it was called to George Road shortly after 6pm along with West Midlands Ambulance Service. He was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

A violent man who stabbed his brother to death following a family row has been jailed for life. Lenville Waite, aged 59, plunged a blade through the heart of his elder brother Clifton, aged 61, following an argument. Clifton was pronounced dead at the scene in Small Heath last November.
