This is a Natural waterfall called Thabadola Ella located in the Kalutara District with natural water pool. Rideevita Ella is another name for the same waterfall. Just amazing place nearest waterfalls to Colombo, 03 meters height small waterfall but cool and calm place with the natural beauty. Water are fresh and clean. It is a fresh water ecosystems with Tropical rainforest. There are very beautiful sceneries. A huge array of naturally occurring plants, as well as indigenous fish and birds, live in and around the fall.
There are many safe areas to have a bath and enjoy but better if you can avoid main pool of the falls.
Take the road from Matugama to Agalawatte via Kitulgoda. At Polgampala, travel around 1.5km on Kurupita road to take the first by-road on the right hand side which will lead towards Thambadola falls. After traveling about 2km, you will reach the end of the road where you will find a well maintained foot path towards the Thambadola ella. This place is well known by locals and even foreigners.
Need to walk some distance to reach the waterfall. Water Force might be harder during rainy days, so make sure to get some advice from people who live in this area.
