GALBODA FALLS | WATER FALLS | SRI LANKA

Today our visit is to Galaboda Ella also known as Hanguranketha Ganga is an isolated waterfall located in Nawalapitiya area of Kandy District in Central Province. This waterfall is about 30m high and width ranges from 3m to 6m.it is also located nearby the Watawala is one of the areas that get the highest rainfall in Sri Lanka.

This waterfall can be access by both road and railway. If you are travelling by a vehicle, you have to park the vehicle about 2km away from the waterfall and to walk along the trail. When travelling by a train you need to get down at the Galaboda Railway Station on the Colombo Badulla railway line (Main Line).After about one half hour walk the trail, you can reach Galaboda Ella waterfall. If you are coming by bus, you can reach the place by Nawalapitiya town to veralugolla mapakanda via galaboda station and the last bus stop is an isolated tea processing factory. From there you have to walk around 3km and can reach the destination.
Galaboda Ella starts from the Galaboda Ela from central province which exceed the annual rainfall of 4500mm.The 60% of the rainfall is get from the southwest monsoon.
This is a famous place among the local travelers for camping.
