Punjab Police is on alert amid the massive manhunt launched to catch the fugitive Amritpal Singh. Checking is being conducted on the outskirts of Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal Singh’s village on April 1. Amritpal has been on the run since March 18. The crackdown came almost over three weeks after Amritpal’s supporters clashed with uniformed personnel at the Ajnala police station on February 23, on the outskirts of Amritsar, demanding the release of one of his close aides, Lovepreet Toofan.
