A teenage girl who tragically died after being struck by a bus in Birmingham has been named as Sophie Jain Fletcher. Sophie was in Sheaf Lane, Sheldon at around 3pm on Saturday when she was struck by a bus. The driver is helping with police enquiries.
Counter terrorism police are investigating an attack on a man who suffered facial burns as he made his way home from a mosque in Birmingham. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries - which are not believed to be life threatening. Police have asked the public to remain vigilant.
