"Language plays a very important part in how we describe and perceive the world. Often this aspect however is neglected or rather not paid attention to. But the words we use, the language we use, can make a whole lot of difference in how we understand things.
The reason I'm giving you this short pretext is to better understand CJI DY Chandrachud's new mission. Recently, the CJI announced that the Supreme court plans to release a glossary of inappropriate gendered terms used in legal discourse. He revealed this, while speaking at an event organised by the Gender Sensitisation and Internal Complaints Committee of the top court for a belated celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8)
