Stripe cut its valuation to $50 billion from its peak valuation of $95 billion in 2021. The payment processing company builds payment processing software for e-commerce businesses like Amazon ($AMZN@US), Google ($GOOGL@US), and Shopify ($SHOP@US) and secured $6.5 billion in its latest funding round. Stripe cut its internal valuation in July by 28 percent, from $95 billion to $74 billion. Stripe lowered its valuation again in January to $63 billion. Stripe has remained privately owned for over a decade but will make a decision about a public offering within the next year.
