Fast Five was originally The Brazilian Job, a sequel to the The Italian Job. It is rumoured that the script was reused from The Italian Job for Fast Five, due to both scripts being identical.

The Fast and the Furious 5 started out as The Brazilian Job, the proposed sequel to The Italian Job, whose script was bought and rewritten for the Fast and Furious series when it went through Development Hell.
