NHS: 23,000 excess deaths caused by long A&E wait times, claims college

A top medical college has linked long wait times at accident and emergency rooms with more than 20,000 excess deaths in 2022. A report by the college found wait times of more than twelve hours for some, claiming they cause "catastrophic consequences for patient safety and mortality".
