UP: Chinese national detained near Nepal border in Lakhimpur Kheri

A Chinese national was detained and taken into Police Custody Remand (PCR) on February 18 in Lakhimpuri Kheri near the Nepal border.

The accused has been identified as Wang. The case has been registered against him in sections 121 and 121A of IPC for conspiring against Govt of India, attempting to wage war, or abetting waging of war.

“His PCR ended today, which has been further extended till Feb 24. On the basis of evidence, sections 121 and 121A of IPC have been added. The accused has been identified as Wang. Both sections are serious and are related to conspiring against the Government of India, attempting to wage war, or abetting waging war, against the Government of India. Further investigation underway,” said SP Yadav, Special prosecution officer
