Geronimo Black — Geronimo Black 1972 (USA, Progressive/Blues Rock)
  • last year
Rock band formed in 1972 by Jimmy Carl Black and named after his youngest son, Geronimo. Some of the band's musicians played with Frank Zappa in his "The Mothers Of Invention". The group released their first album on MCA Records, where there is prog, blues, and hard, an abundance of brass, good keyboard parts ... According to guitarist Denny Walley: “No one really knew in the company what to really do with us and how advance us. In addition, they were afraid of us, we were noisy, we drank a lot, we fooled a lot, we were uncontrollable assholes, and our business with the record company ended ... ". Shortly after the release of the album, the group disbanded. However, in 1980, the original line-up recorded a new album for the Helios label called Welcome Back Geronimo Black (guitarist Gerry McGee, ex-Magic Band participated in the recording).
