Meet the singleton who hooks up with men living near hot food spots and leaves in time for breakfast specials.

Lauren Tenner, 26, moved to London and embarked upon a culinary and romantic escapade across the city.

The city girl claims she strategically plans her hook ups near food places she wants to try - killing two birds with one stone.

Lauren has her own food map of London and it's a 'win-win' if a date just so happens to live to near a good restaurant.

She even arranged to meet a man in Finsbury Park because it was close to renowned Bake Street Cafe which is 75 minutes from her West London home- to arrive in time for their breakfast special creme brûlée cookies.

On other occasions she has left a date early to get a kebab, shared fish and chips with a German who couldn't understand her and indulged in shepherd's pie in her bathtub after her date was desperate for a dip.

Lauren, a community manager, originally from Belfast, Ireland said: "I have a Google map with pins in all my favourite food places and places I want to try.

"If they so happen to be near someone I want to date, it's a win-win.

"I've always been very passionate about food and the past two years in London I've thrown myself into dating."

One of her endeavours included a delightful breakfast bite after a hook-up in Finsbury Park.

The foodie, who lives in West London, said: "Bake Street near Hackney would take 75 minutes from my house.

"There's no way I'd make it there for a creme brûlée baked cookie so needs must - I went on a date in Finsbury Park to make this happen.

"I met him on Hinge and we went on a date on Friday night so I was ready for Saturday morning specials.

"I left his at 9am and got there for 10am after a leisurely walk over there."

Lauren enjoyed a creme brûlée cookie, tater tots and a hot Nashville chicken sandwich.

Another time, in December 2021, Lauren went on a date in East London and had to invite herself back so she could stop off at Dom's subs in Hackney.

She said: "I had to say: 'Am I not coming back?'

"I had a Yule Hog and Mexican spiced pork sandwich, it was absolutely delicious."

Despite her passion for food, Lauren doesn't recommend food on a first date as 'it's too much of a risk'.

"I did go for fish and chips on a first date with a German man because he didn't drink and he didn't warn me beforehand," she said.

"He showed up at the pub and ordered a Diet Coke and I thought it was better than getting really drunk.

"He found it really hard to understand my accent."

Lauren's dating app of choice is Feeld - a spicier dating app.

She said: "One guy I met on Feeld said that he didn't want to talk about air fryers and that was a big red flag.

"I'm a big fan of my air fryer.

"I realised within 10 seconds we weren't going to get on so I made my exit.

"I was all the way in Brixton so I stopped off in Stockwell to get a donner kebab from Taste More for £8.50.

"I had better chemistry with the guy behind the till and I was probably the only person to have had a sit in meal ever."

Another memorable food date was when Lauren ate shepherd's pie in her bath.

She said: "I mentioned I had a bath in my house and I asked him what his favourite thing to eat was.

"I made a shepherd's pie and we ate in the bath - I had to explain to my flatmates why there were peas in there."

In November, Lauren ate at dim sum and duck in King's Cross but arranged to meet a man straight afterwards - panic struck as she spilt grease all over her top.

She said: "I was absolutely covered in duck fat so I had to swap tops with my friend."

Red flags for Lauren include fussy eaters and unmoisturised hands.

She said: "I like someone to be interested in food, I could never go out with a fussy eater it just makes things too hard.

"It would be difficult if someone was gluten free because I'm very passionate about sandwiches.

"Of course, if we go out for food, I'm going to take pictures.

"They must moisturise their hands and be well manicured - I also have to approve all jewellery."
