Kavyashree Ajeru would accompany her father to Yakshagana Bhagavatike classes as a child. With every class, her interest in the artform grew, until her father observed that her interest is probably more than his own. He soon stepped aside and encouraged her to pursue the artform.
Kavyashree’s tryst with music started in class 4, when she started to learn classical music. Today, she believes that pre-existing knowledge of music has helped her pursue Yakshagana Bhagavatike. Kavyashree hopes to preserve the Bhagavatike legacy by teaching the artform to the next generation.
