Mace and Heathrow have invested in an innovation pilot, trialling a robotic dog at Heathrow’s Cargo Tunnel construction project to improve productivity, enhance safety and support the digitalisation of construction.The Spot the Dog robot (or ‘Dave’, as he is known at Heathrow) has been designed to fully automate sensing and inspection in remote and hazardous environments. The robot operates alongside Trimble field capture technology to collect building data which can be used in conjunction with 3D models and augmented reality.
