The U.N.'s cultural body made the announcement on Nov. 30.
The "artisanal know-how and culture
of the baguette" has been added to the organization's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. .
Intangible Cultural Heritage is defined as
"traditions or living expressions inherited from
our ancestors and passed on to our descendants.".
