"#ganeshchaturthi", also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, or Vinayaka Chaviti is a Hindu Festival celebrating the arrival of lord ganesha to earth from Kailash Parvat with his mother Goddess Parvati/Gauri. 
"ganesh chaturthi" is a hindu festival that is celebrated every year especially in maharashtra and Karnataka. It is celebrated as the birth anniversary of God Ganesh the youngest son of Lord Shiva.

ganesh chaturthi is celebrated in month of August or September of every year.
"ganesh chaturthi festival" is a Hindu Festival. During this festival people pray to lord Ganesha with great devotion and admiration. This festival lasts for 11 days. A special kind of sweet called "Modak" is prepared in joy of special occasion. lord ganesha takes away all our pains and gives us happiness therefore we call him "Vighnaharta". Celebration starts on chaturthi and ends on eleventh day that is on Anant Chaturdashi.
On "ganesh chaturthi" festival celebrations, people bring ganapati home and worship for blessings. On 11th day people do Ganapati Visarjan with chanting of "Ganapati Bappa Morya, Pudchya Varshi Lavkar Ya". The excitement of "ganesh chaturthi" settles in weeks before the festival actually begins.
