Warisan president Mohd Shafie Apdal said he had never rejected cooperation with any coalition before this but had to take a firm stand following his experience of being in several political coalitions, including in BN and Harapan.

Shafie recalled how former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who was the chairperson of Bersatu at the time, had wanted to bring in the party to Sabah but he had told Mahathir not to do so.

He added the coalitions had made promises for Sabah but had not fulfilled them.
