The festival of Dussehra is celebrated across the country on the tenth day of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month. This time Dussehra will be celebrated on 5th October. On this day Lord Shri Ram had won the victory of good over evil by killing Ravana. Since then, the festival of Dussehra is celebrated with pomp across the country on this day. It is also known as Vijayadashami. During the night of Dussehra, Ravana Dahan is done in the auspicious time.

अश्विन माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की दशमी तिथि के दिन देशभर में दशहरा का पर्व मनाया जाता है. इस बार दशहरा 5 अक्टूबर के दिन मनाया जाएगा. इस दिन भगवान श्री राम ने रावण का वध कर बुराई पर अच्छाई की जीत हासिल की थी. तब से ही इस दिन देशभर में दशहरे का त्योहार धूमधाम से मनाया जाता है. इसे विजयदशमी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. दशहरे की रात के समय शुभ मुहूर्त में रावण दहन किया जाता है.
