News of the petition was first reported on Aug. 22.
It was posted online by a solidarity union known as Apple Together.
It follows a company memo issued by Apple CEO Tim Cook stating that Bay Area workers will be required to be back
in the office at least three days a week.
The new company policy is set
to begin on Sept. 5.
