Julie Driscoll - album 1969 (1971)

  • 2 anni fa
It was 1969 when British singer Julie Driscoll decided to lay new foundations for her future by leaving the band that made her famous Brian Auger & the Trinity, and recorded her debut solo album simply titled "1969". Actually for some reason the album was released only in 1971.To the arrangements and keybords her future husband Keith Tippett, and his hand in largely felt in the moment in which rock, jazz, free jazz, folk, and intriguing wind arrangements merge into the songwriting. The musicians who took part in the recording were the best that English musical panorama of the time could offer including Tippett himself, Spedding, Jenkins, Dean, The Blossom Toes among others. Album of absolute freshness, and remarkable vivacity, a continuous chase between English folk, rock and jazz experimentations, with the voice of Julie welding everything.
