Experience Himachal Pradesh with us. In this tour blog/ vlog, we have shown our journey by a toy train in Pathankot(Punjab)-Jogindernaga(Himachal Pradesh) route which is also known as Kangra Valley Railway route through video clips and travel photography (streamed in a video format).
The Kangra Valley Railway is a narrow-gauge railway of track width 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) that runs from Pathankot (in the state of Punjab) to Jogindernagar (in Himachal Pradesh), covering a total stretch of 164 km.
It is considered as the longest narrow-gauge railway track in India, which includes 34 stations.
It comes under the Firozpur Division of the Northern Railway zone of the Indian Railways.
The Kangra Valley Railway was built in 1928 but was opened for passengers later in 1929. Since 1976, all rakes have been hauled by diesel locomotives after the decommissioning of old steam engines.
**Some of the information (given by us in the video) may not match with current COVID situation because train frequency and timings have changed drastically after we entered into COVID situation whereas we did this tour in 2017. Hence, all information provided by us were based on that period.
