"Metropolis" is the fifth album released by English jazz pianist, composer and writer of ochestrated jazz pieces Michael (Mike) John David Westbrook from Highway Combe, England.
"Metropolis" is a suite composed of 9 movements performed with a big band of 22 musicians. The work of years flow into the suite, dilated performances that involve alternating collective improvisations with themes performed in solos, with the addtion of the instrument voice. Hinted and soffused melodies, rock rhythms and use of electric instruments. "Metropolis" is a concept album that imagines a any day big city crossing.
