Watch this daughter's heartfelt reaction as her dad suffering with dementia forgets who she is. Bailey, 28, was having a conversation with her 58-year-old father Scott when he told her that being called dad was ‘freaking him out’. Scott was diagnosed with dementia in mid-February of this year (2022) and has lived with his daughter since late-February. Bailey, who wishes to remain anonymous, recorded the interaction in a video that she then posted on the social media app Tiktok, where it has amassed nearly 10 millions views. The video shows Bailey telling her father that he will always be her dad, but that's she happy to also call him Scott. Scott emphasises that he doesn’t feel like her dad despite having strong feelings towards Bailey and her mother. The caring father can also be heard saying that he doesn’t want to hurt Bailey's feelings and that he knows she is important to him. The pair eventually agree for Bailey to call her father ‘Scott’ and end the conversation saying ‘I love you’. Bailey, who is a full-time caregiver to her father, lives in Greensboro, North Carolina, USA, with her father, mother and fiancé. Although she is his full-time caregiver, her sister and her fiancé help her to feed, bathe and look after her father. Bailey said: “Some days are easier than others. I miss my dad, but I love Scott very much.” This video was filmed on 5/6/2022.
