Micah — I’m Only One Man 1971 (USA, Progressive Rock)

Micah was formed in Terre Haute, Indiana in the summer of 1971. Then the guys moved to the state of New York, where they performed mainly in the northern part of the state, and lived in Albany. The band quickly gained the attention of fans with their powerful organ-guitar progressives. The talented musicians received recognition and were offered a record deal with Sterling Award Records in New York. The album "I'm Only One Man" was recorded at the end of 1971. The music on the first side of the record was recorded "live" in a quadraphonic studio in New York in one day without rehearsals and without any breaks. The musicians were so good that the studio's sound engineers didn't make any dubs. Freaky organist, juicy inclusions of jazz and not very jazz guitar, strong melodies in minor keys, decent vocalist, which does not pull the blanket over itself, but allows other musicians to turn around in instrumental parts - all this cannot leave a true progressive lover indifferent. The album also has a very tasty latino flavor, which only gives it additional charm and charm. The music and performance are very reminiscent of "Atomic Rooster" - the same frantic Hammond, a very similar structure of compositions and even a vocal style in the same vein. Unfortunately, this New York band only left us one CD and, as is often the case with good non-commercial American bands, disbanded in 1974. which only gives it additional charm and charm.
