Centre approves comprehensive package of Rs 1.64 lakh crore to revive BSNL

The Union Cabinet approved a comprehensive package of Rs 1.64 lakh crore on July 27to revive Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), informed Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. “A comprehensive package of Rs 1.64 lakh crore approved by the union cabinet today for the revival of BSNL. The decision has been taken that the legacy spectrum which BSNL had will be once again reallocated, new spectrum for 4G will be reallocated and over next 1.5-2 years spectrum for 5G will also be allocated to BSNL,” said Ashwini Vaishnaw. Answering a question regarding the 5G auction, the Union Minister said, “5G auction is continuing even today and it is going to continue tomorrow also. At the end of the 9th round, we have grossed about Rs 1,49,454 crore.”
